History
OPERATION LIFT was started in 1975, largely through the efforts of Mr. Ebrahim Sayed, head of Occupational Therapy at the Brantford General Hospital, and Ms. Noreen McNamara, a nurse with the Brant County Health Unit. Through their efforts, the first grant was received in December of 1975, and an Executive Director and drivers were hired, using their own vehicles.
